Betsy and Arthur – In History

A visit to the Betsy Ross House in Philadelphia also provided an opportunity to reflect on the life of Arthur Atwater Kent, Sr., who was an inventor and radio manufacturer.  Additionally, he patented the modern form of the automobile ignition coil. Interestingly, his manufacturing company became the largest maker of radios in the United States.  He certainly contributed to tourism in Philadelphia by helping to organize and pay for the restoration of the Betsy Ross House.  My husband and I enjoyed touring it and certainly recommend a visit.  Visitors to this site can be thankful for the generosity of Arthur Kent.
