Just recently, my husband and I were at Barnes & Noble for a book signing for our recently released book, “A Couple’s Cross-Country Road Trip Journal.” It was very encouraging to see the fine art of reading being exercised. People from all age groups were engrossed by the offerings at this destination for book lovers. As we sat at the book signing table engaging those who stopped by the store for an event that was headlined as “New Writer’s Night”, I looked around – appreciating and admiring the array of books, videos, and music selections.
Yes, books are still a very vital and amazing part of the world of reading. It’s one of those things that keeps fostering personal growth; exposing us to and educating us on all sorts of topics. The excitement of the evening inspired both my husband and I to look forward to our next trip and writing our next book!
Lit up in purple lights in honor of Prince who was the Essence Music Festival headliner during 4th of July weekend. Known in the music world as a musical genius, Prince Rogers Nelson did not disappoint the concert crowd of 50,000. Essence, one of the largest live events in the United States, attracted nearly 600,000 people to New Orleans.
Arriving at the purple-colored dome, the crowd – a majority of them wearing purple – was eager to see prince. The atmosphere was “electrifying.”
An enjoyable river cruise on the Steamboat Natchez. This dinner cruise, while enjoying the sights down the Mississippi River, was intriguing. Appreciating good jazz music and Cajun cuisine while onboard. Suggest exploring this when you’re in the New Orleans area.
